a lifelong resident of Birmingham, Alabama, transitioned to eternal rest and peace with her Heavenly Father, on April 12, 2016. She was previously employed with Booker T. Washington Insurance Company, Burger Phillips and the Birmingham Police Department.
She leaves to mourn her passing and to celebrate her wonderful life and legacy: her sons, John E. King, Jr. (Elaine) and Stanley King, Sr. of Birmingham, Alabama; grandchildren, Tamara King Williams, Adrienne M. King and Stanley King, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Amiyah D. King and Arianna J. James of Birmingham, Alabama; a niece, Deborah Moss of Detroit, Michigan; a sister-in-law, Bobbie Nell Moss of Birmingham, Alabama; a host of other relatives, friends and members of Trinity Baptist Church.
Family visitation will be on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Smith & Gaston Southside Chapel, 102 - 6th Avenue SW, Birmingham, Alabama 35211. Celebration of Life Worship Service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Baptist Church, 900 Graymont Avenue West, Birmingham, Alabama 35204, with interment in Elmwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Scholarship Ministry.
