I am so proud to say Pastor Ross and I became friends in San Diego some 8 years ago. When he took over Calvary Chapel Rancho Santa Fe for 6 months while our Pastor, Pastor Bob was absent. Pastor Ross was fantastic to listen to, talk with and to have a great friendship with. I was so blessed to get to know Ross. We stayed in touch for years after. I was saddened to learn of his passing. He loved the Lord, and his family so much. We had great talks about God. He was a great friend. I can hear...

Carol, Barbara and I are praying for you and grieve with you over the loss of your husband and our friend. We have just learned of his death. He meant much to me as a friend and mentor and I treasure the times I spent with him. I turned 80 in June and having a few health issues but God is good to allow me to still be able to get around. You may not remember me but I met Ross when I was in military in New Hampshire and Barbara and I visited you all at Calvary one year on New Year's Eve. I was...

I was one of Ross' camp kids when he ran a camp named Pinebrook in E. Stroudsburg, PA in the early 60's. He was tough, but fair-minded and I had a wonderful time there. Years later, I met him as a mother of 2 and introduced my children to him. He didn't remember me, of course, but was glad to learn that I was still strong and steady in the faith. God bless you, Ross for the part you played in my life and I look forward to meeting you the 3rd and final, eternal time (i.e.....

So sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Rhoads. He meant so much to me. I was saved after hearing his message and call to salvation in 1985. My husband Dale and I met in the singles group at Calvary and have been married for 29 years. About two years ago we were able to hear him preach a dynamic sermon at Calvary and I was able to tell him in person that I was saved because of him and the Holy Spirit. He will always have a special place in my heart Paula and Dale Staley

Dear Carol and Family,
I first moved to Charlotte in July of 1984. It was then that when searching for a strong Bible teaching church like the one I grew up in, Park Street Brethren Church in Ohio, that several people highly recommended Calvary Church and told me about Dr. Ross Rhoads. It also was conveniently just around the corner on Sardis Rd. from where I then lived on Providence Road. Once I visited, I knew it was the place for me as it felt so much like my church I grew up...

I was so sorry to learn of Ross' passing. I was led to Calvary Church when I first came to Charlotte in 1980. Through his preaching, teaching, passion and an amazing trip to the Holy Land with he and Carol....I grew so much. I am currently in training to be a Chaplain for the Blly Graham Rapid Response Team and I tie my sustained growth to the blessing that was mine to sit under his teaching. Such a blessing! I can hear Ross saying "to live is Christ, to die is gain (Phil 1:21), but...

Ross allowed me to follow my heart and calling to feed the homeless men and women on the streets of Charlotte through the support of the Men's Prayer Breakfast led by Harry Graham. He babtised my two daughters and me, led us through scriptures, through Israel, and gave me a heart for missions that changed my life for all eternity. He impacted my heart, my life and my prayer life by his example, his love and his teachings.
He and Carol exemplified Christ in every aspect of their lives by...
