Rowland R. Beckwith, of Camden, AR, formerly of Locust Bayou, AR, passed away on January 30, 2026, at Silver Oaks Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born on January 24, 1941, in Camden, AR to Alta Lou Robertson Beckwith and Leroy (Oscar) Beckwith, the second of four children. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Sheila Burton and brother, Mike Beckwith.
Rowland spent 55 years working in the log woods using a chainsaw and then at Valero in East Camden until his retirement. He was a gentle and kind soul with a great love for animals. The neighborhood dogs in Locust knew where to go for a meal, kind words and hugs. Left to cherish his memory is a sister, Pat Janes of Mooringsport, LA, sister-in-law, Barbara Beckwith of Locust Bayou, seven nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to ASPCA or another animal rescue of your choice. Many thanks to the staff at Silver Oaks for their kindness and patience’s during these last few years.
