Roy Alston

We will miss Roy and his crazy jokes and laughter! He could always make you laugh! Although we hadn't seen him in a while, we often thought about him. Praying for comfort to the family and that God will continue to keep you in His care.

Roy had the sweetest personality. He could work your nerve and endear you to him in the same breath. I was one of the choir directors and Roy was the church musician at the Mount Sinai Baptist Church. I marveled so many times at his wonderful musical gift. He could not be near a piano without playing it. Whenever I approached a church and could hear the musician from the outside, I knew when it was Roy. He had a style like no other. My heart would leap knowing that I would hear him play. Roy...

I knew Roy for the last few years, and he was always kind to me. He gave back to his community by playing the organ at his church for as long as he could until his health declined. He had a wonderful and hilarious sense of humor, and his smile lit up his whole face. He didn't have the easiest life - he struggling and he suffered. But in spite of that, he loved God and he loved life fiercely. He will be missed.
