I'm listening to him at this moment. His work will be remembered for as long as humanity exists. The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, he makes the characters come to life.

His Readings of Song of Ice and fire still instill the most chills, and most feels that I am likely to feel from the series. Although Roy Dotrice is amazing in his ability and performance as a man or woman is likely to hear. The deep, rich, and haunting tones of Roy Avers' voice are missed by myself and many others when I hear the first couple books of The Song of Ice and Fire. I am truly infatuated by his depiction of Ned and children alike. His deep voice and the resonance of the classic...

I have Roy's reading of Lincoln, and will always keep it. What a great voice for the blind.

Dear Monica and family, Roy came to be one of my favorite narrators. I especially enjoyed HOT HOUSE and DREAMS ARE NOT ENOUGH. His vocal intonnations and characterizations made his books come alive. One only had to meet him to experience what a kind person he was and his unique sense of humor. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Roy Avers will always be the voice of a gentle violin. Having known and heard him working at the Census Bureau, I know what a valuable person God has received home. His presence will be greatly missed. I continue to hold Monica and his family in my prayers. He is "soaring on the wings of angels..." Love to all of you.

Thank you, Roy, for your years of dedicated service to reading books for the enjoyment of individuals who either could not read print or read print with great difficulty. You will long be remembered. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Monica, your children, stepchildren, and grandchildren. I hope all the wonderful memories of your time with family and friends will soon replace the...
