Not sure what to say?

To Audrey & family:

I was greatly saddened to learn of Roy's passing. I had the good fortune to work closly with Roy when I served on the PENC-PEPP Board and later as Chairman. He was indeed the consummate professional. His door was always open, and I shall be forever indebted to Roy for his encouragement and thought-provoking ideas. All of us in PENC who had the experience of working with Roy became better professionals and engineers for having known him.

My wife,...

I first met Ray in August of 1976 an later had the pleasure of working with him on the first MATHCOUNTS. Ray was a true professional.

I was still a fairly new member and learning my way around when Roy took the helm of PENC. He made me and many others feel welcome and respected right away, giving us all an example of professionalism at its best. My condolences to the family and to the many PENC members who have come along too late to know Roy, we will not forget him.

Roy Baber was the most impressive Executive Director of PENC that I have had the pleasure to meet. During the 1980's his organizational skills prevented the Architects and the NC legislature from running rough shod over PENC and our right to design buildings. I was there, I know. This was truly a gentleman and a member of the greatest generation that will be truly missed. As a person note, Bob, it has been a long time since 1979 in Greensboro. Hope you and your family are doing well. My email...

I served as President of Professional Engineers of North Carolina when Roy was Executive Director. He was kind, professional and considerant of all members. I hold Roy among the very best of people I have known. He certainly had the best interests of the members always in his mind and heart. Roy and Audrey were always a delight to be around. They were positive, encouraging, and made us feel we were important. It takes a special personality to do that.

Our thoughts and prayers...

I am the executive director of AENC, of which Col. Baber was a member. And although I didn't know Col. Baber, I share in the loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. He was a true American hero!!
