"G" Batten

Roy Samuel "G" Batten, 74, of Richmond, formerly of Albemarle County, passed away after a courageous battle with an illness on Thursday, September 20, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Weda Emily Batten and is survived by his siblings, Anna Batten Johnson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Russell D. Batten of Barboursville, West Virginia, Gloria Batten Smith of North Carolina, Vernon Alvin Batten of Charlottesville, Ethel Batten Harlow of Palmyra, Virginia, and Grover Batten of Gordonsville, Virginia; many nieces and nephews; his children, Sammy Batten, Jackie Coffey, Johnny Batten and Sherri Pridemore; stepchildren, Tammy Towler, Terri Swift, Angela Shifflet and 10 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 6 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2012, at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Road, where a funeral ceremony will be held 12 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2012, followed by interment at Dale Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Autism Services Center, 929 Forest Avenue, Huntington, West Virginia 25701.
