Roy Clark was the popular longtime host of TV's Country Music variety show "Hee Haw." He hosted the show from 1969 until 1997. Buck Owens co-hosted the show with Clark until 1986. Clark was instrumental in growing the popularity of Country Music. He was a renowned guitarist and banjo player who influenced countless Country Music stars including Brad Paisley. I watched Mr Roy on hee haw as a child with my dad. I immediately took up guitar after first encountering his wonderful talent. Never accomplished much but still enjoying playing guitar. He was a great person in addition to his talent.

Been awhile I miss you i had an aneurysm rupture last yr in my aorta I was dead for 19 minutes on the operating table I thought that was it for me but they got me back.i thought I would see you soon.but nope still here anyway I had another son grandpa. I hope I don't see you soon love Ron Clark.

He had a nice voice. Yesterday when I was young, was one of his best songs. I remember Hee Haw to. And he could really play the Banjo. Rest In Peace and God Bless the great Roy Clark.

I first met Roy in the mid-1970s at a Fort Worth upstairs bar that had a 4 piece band. When I first walked in with my girlfriend we had a choice of tables which most were empty and the band was quiet. The dance band started playing and Roy Clark came into the bar unannounced. It wasn't long before Roy and a man named Bobbie got an invitation to join the band. The bar filled up with people waiting in line to get in.
