Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Burkburnett Obituary

Roy Cremeens, 81, of Burkburnett, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2015, at First United Methodist Church of Burkburnett with Rev. Tom Rodgers, Rev. Liz Talbert, and Rev. Christina Haworth, officiating. Interment will follow at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.
A son of the late Stephen and Pearl (Cannon) Cremeens, Roy was born on July 23, 1933, in Plaquemine, Louisiana. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, retiring after 26 years as MSgt. On December 27, 1952, he married Barbara Janelle Pittman in El Cajon, California. He attended First Christian Church in Burkburnett for many years. Roy enjoyed skeet shooting, trap shooting and yearly fishing trips to Colorado with his sons and grandson. Roy mastered the art of cross stitching and enjoyed giving his works of art to his family and his church. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Ray Cremeens; sister, Faye Cremeens; brother, Louis Cremeens who passed on the USS Arizona; and brother, Lee Haynes.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Janelle Cremeens of Burkburnett; three sons, Steve Cremeens and wife Kathy of Wichita Falls; Bobby Cremeens and wife Tina of Ft. Worth; and Danny Cremeens and wife Kristi of Burkburnett; seven grandchildren: Carrie Thompson, Jenny Cremeens, Erica Hentz and husband Josh, Lauren Phipps and husband Will, Cameron Cremeens and wife Heather, Caitlyn Cremeens, and Carson Cremeens; and six great-grandchildren: Grant, Addi, Eden, Laney, Riley, and Campbell.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.
