View Funeral Webcast Roy Dean Crownover, 53, transporter at Maury Regional Medical Center, died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at his residence on Westover Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 12:00 noon at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Ezell Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Charles Leonard Crownover and Sara Elizabeth Brown Crownover. He attended Maury County schools and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a former employee of Porter-Walker Company and a member of the National Rifle Association. Survivors include his companion, Faylene Hayes Brown of Columbia; daughters, Chasity Hails of Brentwood and Jessica (Derrick) Buchanan of Columbia; sons, David Crownover of Columbia, Wesley Crownover of Lyles; Derrick Lee Hayes of Columbia, whom he reared as a son; sister, Betty (Ronnie) Dickey of Columbia; brother, Charles William Crownover of Hermitage; grandchildren, Austin Hails, Devonte` Buchanan, Destiny Buchanan, and Devin Buchanan; special friends, Betty Jo Wright, Ricky Mencer, and Dale Tomlin; beloved dogs, Daisy and Bear; several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Rachel Lynn and special nephew, Ricky Crownover. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Crownover. Active pallbearers are Derrick Lee Hayes, Gerald Lovett, Darryl Jett, Jesse Merritt, Ronnie Dickey, and Dale Tomlin. Transport Staff of Maury Regional Medical Center will serve as honorary pallbearers.
