I have lost a friend and mentor and will never forget Mr. Griak and his compassion to me and my two girls. He was my track coach from 7th grade all the way to my senior year at the University of Minnesota. 10 years of guidence from a man who cared about my every moment. He's a man to be remembered and will still follow his advice and pass it on to my two girls and their family. Not many can bestow this honor. May Mr. Griak rest in peace.

It was an honor to have known Coach Griak. Sharing the old Cooke Hall fieldhouse put me around a true coach at an early time in my career. He was a great coach and mentor. Truly his maroon and gold spirit will live on forever.....
