Read MoreBarcelona "72" after a night on the town. Sitting on side of the road, Capt Hoffman pulled up next to me told me to get in the car. We drove around looking for the Leahy. Both were a little under the weather. I will always remember him in my prayers.

I just learned of Admiral Hoffman's death and send Mary Lynn my sincere condolences. He was a fine ship's captain on the Cromwell and a wonderful person who was very kind to me.
