Roy Eugene Kersey “Snooks” aged 91 passed from this life on Tuesday afternoon October 9, 2018 in his home at Zent. One of thirteen children, he was born in Wheatley, Arkansas on October 6, 1927 to William and Lula Kersey. Attending school through the eighth grade, in Zent and Posey during the Great Depression he left early to get a job to help feed and care for the family.

He spent his first adult years working at MFA Oil Company in DeWitt delivering fuel and cutting timber in the Sawmill in Posey with his brother Loyd Kersey, although the occupation he officially retired from was farming. In April of 1981 he married Irene Sutterfield and enjoyed a life of 37 years with her.

He had various hobbies and interests such as; Talking to his friends and family, raising cows, cutting and splitting wood, cutting up and processing meat. He enjoyed hunting; coon, squirrel and rabbit, and last but not least he enjoyed time with his dogs.

Eight Grandchildren and Five Great-grandchildren.

with service at 11:00...Thursday October 11th

Time will heal the hurt, but not diminish the memories. I wish I had know sooner Uncle Snooks and family, but know that everyone is in my prayers.
