Mr. Roy Lee Ketenbrink, age 65, of Bear Branch, Indiana, entered this life on November 27, 1944, in Ohio County, Indiana, the son of William F. & Dorothy Marie (Dickason) Ketenbrink, both of whom preceded him in death. He was raised in the Bear Branch Community & was a 1962 graduate of Rising Sun High School. Roy was inducted into the United States Army on August 2, 1965, in Cincinnati, Ohio, rising to the rank of SP5, serving during Vietnam. For his Service to his Country, he received the National Defense Service Medal & the Marksman Rifle. He was honorably discharged on August 1, 1971. Roy was united in marriage on December 31, 1969, in Bennington, Indiana, to Donna Ruth Kirkpatrick. He was employed as a machinist for Ohio Rod in Versailles, Indiana, retiring in 2002, after 31 years of service. He was a former employee of Alton Box in Aurora, Indiana, & Schenley Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Roy was a member of the Dillsboro American Legion Post #292 & the Olive Branch Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his love of gardening & watching ballgames. Roy died Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 5:18 pm at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
Roy will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Donna Ruth Ketenbrink of Bear Branch, Indiana; his sons: William Todd Ketenbrink & his wife: Jeni of Bear Branch, Indiana; Toby Ketenbrink & his wife: Amy of Rising Sun, Indiana; his daughter: Toni Draper & her husband: Michael of Dillsboro, Indiana; his step-son: Rick Knigga & his wife: Vanessa of Bear Branch, Indiana; his grandchildren: Adam Draper & Lily Anna Ketenbrink; his step-grandchildren: Jeremy, Jessica, Sarah, Leslie, Kyla & Baylee; his brothers: Earl Ketenbrink of Rising Sun, Indiana; Paul Ketenbrink of Oakview, California; his sisters: Opal Coates of Vevay, Indiana; Vera Cutter of Madison, Indiana; Helen Levell of Vevay, Indiana; several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William F. & Dorothy Marie (Dickason) Ketenbrink; his daughter: Tina Jay Ketenbrink died 8/24/1977.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 2:00 pm, by Rev. Pat Lanman at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery, Bear Branch, Indiana.

Military rites will be conducted by the honor guard of the Dillsboro American Legion Post #292 at the Cemetery
