LIEBMAN, Roy It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Roy S. Liebman. Our dad passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends. He will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Rachael Liebman (Kevin Wyatt) and Sarah Liebman. He was a caring brother to his sister, Rita Woods...

Not sure what to say?

I first met Roy at the Brotherhood Dinners at Congregation B'nai Israel around 2004 or so. This was a guy I instantly bonded with. He liked to have fun, and he liked to tell stories. We shared a fondness for military aviation, since I am an aero engineer and an airplane lover and my older son Zach became a Marine Aviator out of UC Berkeley after what seemed like the longest and toughest job interview I can imagine -- ten weeks of screening and evaluation at OCS Quantico in VA. There was Roy...

I met Roy as a young Deputy Attorney General around 37 years ago. We were instant friends and soon moved in the same van to Sacramento. His greatest joy was his daughters, and we would spend afternoons at his house in El Dorado Hills watching all our children play. Each July 4th for years we wold picnic in Cordova Park and watch the fireworks.
But like everyone, I can't think of Roy without remembering his humor. After I moved to Los Angeles he would call my office and leave messages...

Roy is my oldest and best friend and I wanted to share some thoughts with you.

Roy and I met on Kalsman Dr. in Baldwin Hills when we were 10 years old. We were instant companions, hiking, playing football and baseball and stepball (a game he brought from Brooklyn).

In high school days we talked about girls and went body surfing at Ellen St. Beach, and always seemed to laugh about anything. He had a great witty sense of humor and never failed to crack me up.

Roy was a friend beginning in 2009 to the end in 2012. Roy, it was a pleasure hearing your laughter, your funny stories and gracious wit. Every time we talked you would tell me more about the achievements of Rachel and Sarah. I enjoyed hearing too stories of your service in the Navy and as a JAG Officer. I'm sad at your passing and will miss your optimism and our conversations and meetings for lunch. My condolences to all of Roy's family.

Roy was a friend from the 1960's to the end in 2012. We worked together and our families played together. We spoke a number of times after his diagnosis and when he came to LA before his trip to Hawaii, we went to lunch at a local Hawaiian restaurant. My wife Ann and I extend our sympathy and prayers to those left behind who loved him. Take to heart the words of Rabbi Elphi at Roy's service. Think of him as the starlight from a star now gone that is just reaching us; his physical presence...

Retirement Luncheon

Roy was a good person and a good friend. I miss him.

Just heard of Roy's passing from my step-father Wally Noss. Truly a great person and will best missed by all.

Sarah and Rachael, I worked with your Dad as a student, then a DAG for a number of years. He always had a humorous story and a moment to share it. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

Dear Rachel and Sarah, while I only met your dad a handful of times he was always very gracious to my family and I. I was able to talk to your Aunt Rita, who also misses him. It was so lovely of you to include us, your Canadian relatives, in your very moving words. I am only sorry we were not able to see him more often and to get to know him better.
