Roy Dale Massey, Born June 29, 1929 in Strawberry, Arkansas to James and Virgie Massey and passed away March 2, 2015 in Granbury, TX.
Dale's father, a civil servant, provided numerous opportunities to live in several locations including Bradley, Arkansas where he met his wife of 67 years, Martha Jean Baker.
A long time resident of Dallas, Texas, he and Martha raised and educated two daughters, Marilyn and Donna. After retiring from The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company they spent their time traveling extensively throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Martha and Dale enjoyed the mountains and decided to settle in Angel Fire, New Mexico building a beautiful home where they lived several years. Wanting to be closer to family, they moved to Granbury, Texas where they resided in a community with a number of friends and neighbors.

Dale passed peacefully in his sleep and will be met in heaven by his parents, James and Virgie Massey, brother J.L. Massey, nephew Jeffery Scott Massey, great nephew Aaron Randall Massey, mother and father in law Ruth and Carl Baker, and brothers in law Carl Baker Jr. and Rogers Post Baker.

Dale was a member of the Jewell P. Lightfoot Masonic Lodge in Dallas Texas for over 50 years.

He is survived by his loving wife Martha, daughter Marilyn Massey and life partner Ron Spears, daughter Donna Coulter and husband Jim, grandson Christopher Moss (US Navy), and a number of nieces and nephews with a large extended family.
Dale was a very special man and will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Bradley United Methodist Church in Bradley, Arkansas Rev. John Braden officiating. Not sure what to say?

Just got thinking about my cousin Dale today, googled his name and found
him quickly.
I'm very sorry to hear about his passing. He was a very good cousin. He was just like his mother, my aunt Virgie. I saw him quite a bit
When I was young. I am his daughters age.
To all living family members and daughters I send my heartfelt sympathy. He was a great person
,

Martha, we were so sad to read the news of Dale's passing. What a dear, sweet man we were fortunate to know. He always had a smile and a wave whenever we passed by. We were lucky to have you both as neighbors. Dale will be missed by his loving family and many, many friends and neighbors.

Dale. Say hello to my dad, Joe McClain. I'm sure y'all are already calling each other creative names. Thanks for being a friend to my parents. You will be missed.

Times like this is so hard, you were a great guy and it was a great honor to be part of your life and for my son to get to know you, I know he will miss you dearly . Dale you will be highly missed ,We love you and will never forget you. We will always have you in our hearts and in our dreams .
One day we will see each other again until then we know your looking down upon us with a big smile .

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

A true wizard of the wrenches, a mentor, a very honorable man who shared his time and knowledge of automobiles. He will truly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Mr. Roy Dale Massey you will be missed. you were a great neighbor and friend who felt more like family. I will miss not seeing you every day at the mail box, or walking the street and stopping to say Hello .Or the phone calls that always started with " Hello, this is Dale Massey ".Or " "Hello Dale this is the other Dale". We saw how much you loved Martha and as you called them your two babies Marilyn and Donna. they were truly blessed to have such a sweet kind hearted man like you in there...

My prayers are with each of you. Martha, he adored you and I know his love is a comforting memory right now as his absence is so real. Donna and Marilyn, you were certainly blessed with a dear daddy; I know you will miss him. May God's comfort be yours.

May you find comfort in this time of sorrow. My heart is broken for the family. I know how special he was to each and every one of you.
