Roy was my brother in-law, he welcomed me into the family with a big hug,his trademark half smile/smirk and the words "you don't know what you're in for".

Roy filled a void in my life as my father had passed away over 20 years ago. He was a remnant of the "Greatest Generation", carrying the ball just a little further down the field. His caring for others was unmatched yet masked by his stoic and quiet personality. For me and our family there is a hole in the world that will be very hard to fill. We love him dearly and hope to see him again in our heavenly Fathers house.

So sad to hear this. Roy and I have crossed paths at NIH and he was always so helpful and kind. He always had a good outlook and a sweet gentle soul. I will forever be thankful that we crossed paths. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends. He will be truly missed by so many. RIP my friend.
