Roy A. Pettersen, 83, of Bangor, passed away on Thursday, October 17th, 2013 at Country Meadows, Bethlehem. Born: on February 5, 1930, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Oskar and Marie (Olsen) Pettersen. Personal: Roy was employed as a shipping annalists, until retiring. He served as a Marshall for the Franklin Lakes Police Dept. in Franklin Lakes, NJ, for 10 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Memberships: He attended Mt. Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, Mount Bethel, PA. Survivors: Wife Catherine L. (Stoutland) Pettersen, of Mt. Bethel, a daughter, Cindy Etelman and her husband Robert, of Mt. Bethel; son Scott Pettersen and his wife Gregoria, of Wayne, NJ; grandchildren Ruth (Etelman) Harper and her husband Matthew, Robert Etelman, Jr., Ryan Etelman, Jason Pettersen, Rachel Pettersen, and one great granddaughter Olivia Harper. He was preceded in death by daughter Janice Pettersen, and infant daughters Catherine and Joanne Pettersen. Services: Memorial Service will be held at 4 PM Sunday, November 3, 2013 in the Mt. Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, 1270 Belvidere Corner Road Mount Bethel, PA. Call 3 - 4 PM in the Church. Interment private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., "Village of Johnsonville, Bangor, PA.
