Not sure what to say?

To the Pickens Family - Thank you for sharing the "Coach" with us Deptford Township Grads. We fondly remember Mr. Pickens yelling instructions to us back in 1957 as we enterd DTHS for the first time across wooden boards laid over mud as we made our way into the Gym. Thanks "Coach" for not calling the 0 and 2 hole plays for me. May God look favorably upon you.

To the Pickens Family
Please accept my Sincere Condolences in the loss of Mr. Pic. My Fond memories were of Mr. Pic telling me During Driver's training: that I was a good driver..Comparing Me to the 2 boys in the car! Along with his Smile and Laugh helped make HS years a little lighter. Knowing A Teacher/ Man of Integrity and Joy, are a Blessing. Wishing you Peace with the help of God's loving hands in the difficult days ahead! Our Memories are FOREVER. RIP Mr. Pic <3 WDHS '74

Lynn, Barb, Mrs. Setzer & family,
I am so sorry for your loss. You are all in my prayers. I too remember Pic teaching me to drive. I still laugh at how everyday he would get in the car & say, "I've got the radio." & never once did any of the 3 of us get to say it first. We were never as quick as the "old" guy. We drove past his house everyday & even now when I go by I think about those rides. He sure touched a lot of people.

Thirty-eight years later, I can still hear Coach Pick bellow, "Lordie Be in the Morning." I was honored to be coached by Pick in three sports. He was a man of great character and integrity...and all of his students and players knew it. What a terrific role model! He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

DTHS baseball 67, coach pickens came off the bench, called time out and said to the ump, were missing a player on the field, oh, its ok ump hes playing up on the grass, sorry I couldnt see him...play ball. great coach, great man, loved, missed. There will never be another Roy Pickens. God Bless

Mrs.Setzer, Faith and I send our condolences to you and your family. We love you. Our hearts go out to you. We didn't know him well but the few times we ran into you we could see how happy you two were. Love Faith and Hope.
