Not sure what to say?

Roy, It has been 13 years since you left us. 13 years. I still remember you often. I shall never forget you. You were a terrific influence on me and my wife who did you proud by becoming a long-term Not-For-Profit accountant at the Lakewood Library, and a Lakewood church. She did my books too, but I was not supposed to be, if course, a Not-For-Profit. . We all miss you, Roy. Joseph Boyle - UPS Class of 1966.

I can't believe it's been 13 years since you left us, Uncle Roy! You and Aunt Linda would be so proud of your great-niece Jess. She's working on her Accounting MBA! I miss you both tremendously and think of you often.

I just want to say THANK YOU for all of your kind and wonderful comments about my Uncle Roy. He will be deeply missed.

Roy taught accounting classes to over 15,000 students in the Puget Sound Area. That is roughly the number of licensed CPAs in Washington State. All of his students did not decide to become CPAs, but all of his students were better for having Roy as their Professor. Goodbye to a wonderful gentleman. Rich Jones, President and CEO of Washington Society of CPAs

Roy convinced me to do some part-time teaching at UPS. I had some frustrations and would burst into his office unnaounced and blurt my complaints. He listened, always had a few words of wisdom and calmed me down. He was a true mentor.

Roy was one of those truly distinguished faculty members here at Puget Sound who understood that teaching was the core calling of the profession, and earned a reputation for putting students first. We will miss him, as will the students he taught so well. Ron Thomas, President University of Puget Sound.

I became Roy's colleague in the UPS School of Business back in 1975. In my early years, when I had a question about campus politics I used to go to him and say, "Hey, Roy, since you have a 50 year head start on me around here...." He would reply with that trademark twinkle in his eye, "It's 60 years, young man." Seriously, with his deep personal history of UPS (it was still CPS when he first arrived) he became a wonderful mentor to me as I learned the institutional ropes. His counsel...

Roy was my MBA advisor and accounting instructor from 1979 to 1982. He did a great job of both. He acted like an army drill sergeant --- but only because he cared for me and the other students in the accounting program. I think he was a great educator as well as a kind and considerate human being.

Roy, There is no doubt about it. You were one of a kind. During my early student years at UPS, you were a student too. Before I finished, you were out and teaching at UPS. So I spent time with you both in your roll as a student and your roll as a teacher. I witnessed you help numerous UPS students over the years. Although you gave me the title, "The Benedict Arnold of the UPS Accounting Department" since I abandoned accounting after 15 hours and never became a CPA, your positive...
