The Christian Benevolent Funeral Home, Inc., announces with the deepest sympathy the transition of Mr. Roy Dene Stallworth Sr.
Mr. Roy Dene Stallworth, Sr., a resident of Prichard, Alabama, since his mid-twenties, departed this life at the age of 72 for his eternal home on Friday, November 26, 2021, at home with family. He was born in Mobile, Alabama, on July 6, 1949, to the late Henry Stallworth and Lillie Mae Stallworth. Roy grew up in the Trinity Gardens community of Mobile, and he was affectionately known as “Main.”
Roy’s childhood education included religious teachings at the Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Mobile, and he was a member of the youth choir. He enjoyed the outdoors, and eagerly participated in hiking and camping activities with Boy Scout Troop 209; he was inducted into the Order of the Arrow, an honor society of the Boy Scouts of America. While attending Trinity Gardens High School, Roy earned high accolades as a dedicated, four-year defensive linebacker on the “Falcons” football team; his fearless, hard-hitting tackles garnered favorable memories of jersey numbers “55” and “00 (double-0)” long after he graduated in 1967. Roy began his collegiate studies at Tennessee State University; he later returned to Mobile and attended S.D. Bishop State Junior College. While at Bishop State, he met the love of his life—Miss Patsy E. Blanks; shortly thereafter, the couple married and began to grow their family. Roy proudly embraced being a father.
Roy’s work-life and lifelong work ethic began as a boy, working alongside his parents in their neighborhood grocery store. As an employee for Scott Paper Company (later Kimberly-Clarke), he worked in the C-Fold department, and progressively became a machine operator. Years later, he completed an apprenticeship and training program and became an Electrical-Instrument Technician. After 35 years of service, Roy retired from the Electrical Department at Kimberly-Clarke in September 2006.
Roy thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, whether relaxing with his children or friends on a fishing pier, night crabbing along a beach, grilling or entertaining in the backyard, or learning family history at large reunions—all were fun times. An avid football fan, Roy took great pleasure in watching his sons play the sport in high school and college, especially as defensive linebackers on the Blount High School championship football team during the 1990’s. He was an enthusiastically steadfast member of the Blount High School Football Booster Club, and he often traveled with the team. Roy served his community as a volunteer with the Concerned Citizens of Prichard Water Board, and he was an active participant at Prichard City Council meetings.
He Is preceded in death by his parents Henry Stallworth and Lillie Mae Stallworth; ten brothers: William, Thomas, Elbert, John D., Britt, Sherman, Samuel, and Oscar Stallworth, Willie Blackmon, and Dan Blackmon; five sisters: Molly, Hattie, and Edith Stallworth, Donella Crooks, and Louise Watson; and one daughter, Trudi L. Ruggs.
Roy leaves a legacy of love and treasured memories with his cherished and devoted wife of 52 years, Patsy E. Stallworth; five beloved children: Ralina M. Henderson of Conyers, Georgia, Trisa L. Stallworth of McDouough, Georgia, Roy (Selela) Stallworth, Jr. of Montgomery, Alabama, McKenzie C. Stallworth of Montgomery, Alabama and Chrysantha N. Stallworth of Harvest, Alabama; fourteen adored grandchildren: Vincent Ruggs and Jaylen Ruggs of Mobile, Alabama, Robert Henderson III and Rashawn Henderson of Conyers, Georgia, Pernell Presley and Takayla Presley of McDouough, Georgia, Joshua Daulton of Knoxville, Tennessee, Destiny Matthews and Roy Dekel Stallworth of Montgomery, Alabama, McKenzie Stallworth, Jr., JaDarius Stallworth, Sidney Stallworth, and Paris Stallworth of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Legend Stallworth of Montgomery, Alabama; seven adored great-grandchildren: Vincent Jr., McKenzie, Blakely, Karla, Aria, Robert IV, and Alanah; three caring brothers: Wallace Blackmon of Mobile, Alabama, Arthur (Geraldine) Stallworth of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Jerry (Cheryl) Stallworth of Conyers, Georgia; two loving sisters, Maxine (Alvin) Stallworth Crawford of Sylacauga, Alabama, and Jerrel Stallworth Grayson of Mobile, Alabama; a dear maternal aunt, Dollie Hope of Birmingham, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and three granddogs Nigel, Ty Beauregard, Daisy and one dearly departed Zarie.
May God Bless Roy’s Spirit to rest in peace forever.

Patsy, I was so saddened to hear about the loss of your dear husband, Roy. My prayers are with you and the family during this troubled time. Stay strong in the Lord for "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds(Psalm 147:3)." He IS a stronghold; the beginning and the end.
