THOMAS, Mr. Roy Lee, Sr.-age 74, of Flint, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, December 22, 2017 with a 12:30 pm family hour at Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel 3021 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, MI 48507.  Elder Kenneth Stewart officiating.  The final resting place for Mr. Thomas will be River Rest Cemetery, Flint, MI.  Calling hours are 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Roy Lee Thomas Sr. was born June 8, 1943 in Arkansas, the son of Clarence Landers and Christine Thomas.  He was a devoted husband, father, brother and uncle.  Roy retired from General Motors with 40 years of service where he was a supervisor and committee man.  He enjoyed playing biz whiz, cooking, and watching TV especially sports.  

Mr. Roy Lee Thomas Sr.  leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Barbara Rice Thomas; children, Brian (Angie), Rodney (Robyn), Roy Thomas Jr, Minnie (Jerome) Anderson,  Ronald McDonald, Nakelia Rice, LaAngel Hunter, Christopher Thomas, Brenda Ezell and Robin; mother of his children, Ruth Thomas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Charlena McClain; granny, Mary Carter; brothers, Johnnie and Edward Landers; sister, Mary Palmer; a host of other relatives and friends including special aunt, Cora Umphryes; special niece, Michelle Landers and special friends, Michael Coleman and Mandy Banister.

He was preceded in death by: mother, Christine Thomas; father, Clarence Landers; sister, Shirley Landers; brothers-in-law Ray and Arthur "Moon" Gray.
