Devoted father of Kathleen (Frank) Ambrosic, Robert (Linda) and Thomas (Jeanold) Poggensee. Loving grandfather of Brant (Chrissy), Kristen, Marc, Nicole, Katie and Maeve Poggensee and Alec Ambrosic. Dear brother of the late Howard Poggensee. Visitation Tuesday 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service at the Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service) 14318 S. LaGrange Rd., (9600 W/Rte. 45) Orland Park. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to Cubs Care, 1060 W. Addison Ave., Chicago, IL. 60613 are appreciated.
Read MoreWe were saddened to read of Royal's passing. The morning the obit appeared in the paper, we were on our way out the door to catch a plane to start our vacation. Royal was my boss for over 20 years at Encyclopaedia Britannica. He and Mary were great people.
