I recall Royce attending actuarial meetings in Las Vegas with me on multiple occasions. We had a ball playing blackjack together. He would intentionally double down on 16 just to get a reaction from the dealer and the other players. It was priceless. Scott

I had the pleasure of working with and for Royce for most of my career. They were also the best years of my career. He and Wayne Waldrup promoted me to Vice President and Chief Actuary in 1981 at the age of 30. They believed in me. After leaving for a short time Royce and Jack Wahlquist brought me back into Lone Star. The following years of growing the company were the best years of my career , by far .
