Shortly after arriving at my first duty station, Cannon AFB in 1979, I had the privilege of getting to know Mr. Royce Stevens through his son, Doug. Royce (and his entire family) immediately took me in as one of their own family members and included me in many family events over the years such as camping, dinners and holiday celebrations while I was far away from my own family on the east coast.
