Every time I hear a sermon about Matthew 6:26, (as I did this morning on 11/22/20), I think of Dr. Ruben Conner Sr. I do not know how many years ago it was that he preached a sermon about that verse, but I do remember that it touched my heart in a way that no other sermon ever had. My wife and I met him through our pastor (James Carrington) who had just graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS), had served under Pastor Eddie Lane (a early ministry collaborator with Dr. Connor) at Bibleway Bible Church , and was a Black Evangelistic Enterprise (B.E.E.) I'm Lon Dorsey. As most of you know if you were members, Ruben and I were very close. We had a lot of history at Community Bible Church. We saw many people come through his ministry. God blessed us all when He called Dr. Conner into the ministry of loving and encouraging people into the kingdom of God. What a blessing this gentle giant of a man was to my family and many more. Well done, Doc. Well done, well done, well done! Enter into your Master's rest.
