Not sure what to say?

I agree with Troy, Ruben was an Edinburg Legend and deserving of recognition by the politicians and residence of Edinburg.

The city should put up a statue of Ruben if you lived , worked or was just visiting Edinburg chances are real good that you knew, talked to or saw Ruben on a daily basis. You will have not met a nicer person anywhere he always had a smile and would wave to you as you went by. At the very least the city of Edinburg should do something in honor of Ruben because he definitely was a part of Edinburg. Rest In Peace Mr Ruben Escobar You will be missed but never Forgotten...........

Tio Ruben, just reading all the comments here and on Facebook, you can tell that people really enjoyed your company and friendship. You will be greatly missed by so many. Rest in peace Tio, Love you.

During the early 1990's I worked as the manager for the Melrose Store at the University Plaza, a location that Ruben used to visit every day to say "Hello, Miss!". Years later, every time that I was around Edinburg, a big percentage of the times, I had the opportunity to see Ruben around the City, and always, a very respectable person that is leaving a beautiful legacy in the City that he adored.

Had the pleasure of meeting Ruben back in the early 80's while working as a police officer for the Edinburg Police Department. I retired after 30 years of service but I will forever remember my contacts with Ruben. He was always in a good saying hi to everyone even though he didn't know you. He would call me "Boo" and also just like he would call everyone "cabezon." Ruben a true Edinburg icon. My condolences to the family. Rest in peace Ruben.

From all the men from edinburg here in beaumont tx..doing time. May he rest in peace! Edinburg will not be the same without him! We all have fun memories of him and he will be missed! Descansa carnalito..asta luego..que dios te tenga en la gloria!

Forever RIP, Ruben...U were a gentle, innocent soul, always with a smile for everyone, walking the streets of East Edinburg & his involvement helping local politicians. My condolences to his sisters, Becky & Sylvia.

Remember Ruben during the 80's when I worked as a police officer for the city of Edinburg. Very easy going and always a pleasure to visit with him. May he Rest In Peace.
