Not sure what to say?

I have known Rubin since I was 15 in Chicago. We went to Senn high school together. We also went to Northwestern Law School together. We were very close friends.
When he and moved to the Bay Area we visited him often. He became friends with our son and daughter in law who worked out with him. Rubin and I called each other several times a year. Especially on his birthday.
He was so proud of his daughter who he talked about all the time.
The time my wife and I spent time with...

I got to know Rubin while working at the Port - and later when he had his office at the Presidio. He was a mentor - always cheerful and helpful. Sorry for your loss

"Ruby" was my closest friend in grammar and high school. I´m glad to know that his later life in San Francisco was both rewarding and successful. May his memory be a blessing to his loved ones!

I am one of the lucky ones because I shared many bike rides across the Golden Gate and up to the summit of Hawk Hill with Rubin. Each ride was filled with his reminiscences about his efforts focus SF residents on their health and fitness, his restaurant, and his real glory moment, appearing on the cover of the Rolling Stone! He was a wonderful raconteur. Above all, he was a proud, loving dad. I miss his active presence in my life.

We rode with Rubin on many wonderful Sunday morning bike rides in the Marin Headlands. When he wasn't riding with us, we knew where to find him - hanging out at Poggio Trattoria Restaurant in Sausalito. A wellness pioneer and a sweet man.
