Ruby Shrader Ables, 91, of Princeton, died Friday, October 5, 2018 at her residence. Born January 15, 1927 in Sandlick she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Bonnie Poe Shrader. Ruby was a graduate of Bramwell High School and retired as an administrator for the Princeton office of the West Virginia Department of Veterans Affairs. She was active in Democratic politics, a member of the Greenview United Methodist Church and volunteered for numerous civic affairs. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard Fitzhugh Ables, and one sister, Janice Glass. Survivors include two sons, Glenn Ables and wife Diann of Logan, Thomas “Tommy” Ables and wife Darlena of Logan; daughter, Marcia Ables Mason and husband John of Greensboro, NC; four grandchildren, Timothy Ables and wife Jane, Laura Ables Frye and husband Donnie, Glenn A. Ables, II, and Wyatt Ables and wife Katie; ten great-grandchildren; Brittany, Kaylee, Casey, Cami, Christian, Alex, Allyson, Shayne, Sierra, and Annaliese. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Ruby will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, October 8, 2018, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Reverend Larry Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the service hour on Monday. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
