ASP, Ruby L. - Of Flint, age 85, died Saturday, July 19, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Walter J. Oelhafen officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma Foundation. Visitation 12-3 and 5-8PM Monday at the funeral home. Ruby was born in Tyler, Missouri on October 2, 1922, the daughter of Bill Wheeler and Minnie Bell. On March 19, 1960 she married Robert Asp in Flint. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. In her earlier years she enjoyed bowling, dancing, traveling, boating, fishing and playing cards. She was a member of the North Port Association in Au Gres. Mrs. Asp retired from Chevrolet Manufacturing after 25 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #659. Surviving are husband, Robert; children, Tonya and husband Steve Jacot, Albert and wife Sylvia Bell, Carolyn and husband Gerald Hensen, Fred and wife Sue Asp; grandchildren, Brian Donaldson, Marcie Donaldson, Jerry Bell, Kim Johnson, Debbie Hall, Bill Viohl, Cheryl Hathies, Michelle Dropps, Brittney Humphrey and Dawn Wilhelm; several great-grandchildren; loving sisters, Betty, Cecil and Opal; many nieces, nephews; her dearly loved dog, Maggie; special friends, Nancy and Cleo Baty.
