Obituary

Ruby Jo Bills passed on to the Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 8, 2010, in Wofford Heights, CA. She was born on August 24, 1932 in Sanger, CA. She has three sisters and two brothers from her parents, James and Manda Maxwell. Her only surviving sibling is her brother, Carlyle J. Maxwell. She met her husband to be, Lary, when she was only 13, and he was 15. Lary joined the Navy in 1947 and served aboard the U.S.S. Philippine Sea CV47. She married her husband of 60 years in Reno, NV on October 31, 1948 while on leave after he completed boot camp. Ruby was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching baseball, football and golf. She herself was an avid golfer, and once recorded a hole-in-one on Hole #2 at Riverside Golf Course in Fresno, CA on July 6, 1983. In the last couple years of her life, she also enjoyed watching horse racing, and she even talked about buying a race horse. She was always a take-charge kind of person, and was active in a variety of social settings. One of her favorite hobbies was playing cards. She always thought about the needs of her family and friends instead of herself, and was one of the most unselfish individuals that anyone would ever meet. Her love and caring for her family was beyond all things in life. She will be missed beyond what any words could say, and we will all love her forever. She is survived by her two sons, Timothy Dale Bills and James Davis Bills; Timothy's wife Diane Bills; two granddaughters, Sarah and Marie Bills; and a great grandson, Charlie. Services will be at the First Baptist Church in Lake Isabella, 3701 Suhre St. on Tuesday, August 17th, at 12:00 p.m. There will be a viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with services to follow. www.bakersfield.com/obits Ruby Jo Bills August 24, 1932 - August 8, 2010

Not sure what to say?

Thinking about you on your heavenly birthday. You and dad will never be forgotten. I never realized how great my parents were until you were gone and I sobered up later In life. Until we meet again.

Another year has passed like the wind through the trees. I think of you and dad just about every single day. You should both still be here but your not. I remember the golf courses we played together when I was young. Chose bowling over golf. Who knew.... Love always and until we meet again. James

Another year has passed. I am here In Wofford Heights where you left us for eternity. Missing you and dad and wish I could talk to you both one more time. Until we meet again In the great beyond, your son James.

Remembering you 12 year later. Missing you and dad. Until we meet again

Remembering you and dad on your 73rd anniversary

Cannot believe you have been gone for 11 years. I think about you and dad (gone 12 years now) every day. Until we all meet again. Will never understand what happened and can only surmise that God had a better plan for both of you a decade ago.

It's been ten years since you left Tim and myself here on earth. Not fair how the last year of your and dads lives ended. Just was not fair ... :( Miss you both very much.

Missing you on your birthday. Sorry for being one day late.

Remembering you today Mom. I will see you and Dad again one day. God will make sure of It ... Amen
