Read MoreI had the good fortune to work with Ruby at Guadalupe elementary school 1977-1979. She had a great sense of humor and a beautiful laugh. Several times during the 87/78 school year we had fun turning the jump rope for the 6th graders during lunch time.

I will always remember Ruby. She was my master teacher at Hunters Point 2 and taught me all of the basics about being a good teacher but more about caring for the children as individuals. She had such a wonderful spirit and was so fun loving - always found the humor in a situation that to others looked bleak. My prayers go out to her family. We have lost one of a kind !
