Ruby Wingo Curtin, 89, of Florence, Alabama, formerly of Iuka, Mississippi, died Sunday, September 28, 2003 at Mitchell Hollingsworth Annex, Florence, AL. She was a lifelong member of the Fleetwood Church of God in Brookwood, AL, and was an avid gardener. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Monday, September 29, at Cutshall Funeral Home - Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 30, at Snowdown United Methodist Church. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service time. Services will be officiated by Bro. John Gwatney. Pallbearers will include Gregory Curtin, Steven Curtin, Jason Bolin, Brandon Lowther, Kelvin Little, and Nathan McConnell. Interment will follow at Snowdown Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is survived by her husband, Oscar Curtin, Sr. of Florence, AL; 2 sons, Oscar Curtin, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Emmett Dan Curtin of Tuscaloosa, AL; 4 daughters, Cynthia McKnight of Florence, AL, Cathy Bolin of Brookwood, AL, Mary Jolene Golden of Atlanta, GA, and Peggy O'Neil McConnell of Cleveland, TN; 2 brothers, Wiley Wingo of Iuka, MS, and Billy Wingo of Memphis, TN; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by 2 infant daughters, Betty and Easter Curtin. Memorials may be made to Snowdown United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
