Ruby Jane Ferrier STUARTS DRAFT
Ruby Jane Ferrier, 77, of Virginia Avenue, passed away at 4:10 a.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at Kings Daughters Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Staunton.
She was born on September 1, 1933, in Nelson County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Rufus and Alice Falls Dodd.
She was a member of West Waynesboro Church of Christ and retired after a long career, traveling as an administrator of nursing facilities with Beverly Enterprises.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Lynn Ferrier.
Survivors include her husband, Waymon Ferrier; a son, Greg Ferrier and his wife, Kathy, of Massachusetts; two brothers, Paul Dodd of Stuarts Draft and Wayne Hailey of Greenville; two sisters, Mary Ann Hutchinson of Waynesboro and Barbara Coffey of Stuarts Draft; four grandchildren, Jason Ferrier, who lived with her and who she raised, and his companion, Krystal Garrison, Michael Ferrier, Justin Ferrier and Jessie Ferrier; four great- grandchildren, Nathan Ferrier, Anakin Ferrier, Arianna Ferrier and Aiden Ferrier.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2010, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by Jonathan Feathers.
Entombment will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Ricky Daw, Brian Aldhizier, Chris Doyle, Gary Dodd, Mike Coffey and Hezzie Morris.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2010, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kitchen Fund of Waynesboro Church of Christ, 2212 Cortland Street, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
