GRABOWSKY- Ruby Mary Grabowsky, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 with her family by her side. She is survived by her six children, Christine Elizabeth Grabowsky, Diana Lee Grabowsky and husband, Charlie Sena, David Michael Grabowsky, Mary Angela Grabowsky, Constance Jean Cox and husband, David, and Paul Matthew Grabowsky and wife, Margaret; seven grandchildren, Carrie Lynn Gutierrez, Hannah Charliene Gutierrez (Jacob Tapia), Michelle Grabowsky, Christopher Grabowsky, Katarina Nicole Garcia, Taylor Rose Grabowsky, and Noah Collins Grabowsky; seven great-grandchildren, Leyla, Darren, Angelica, Nicole, Cali, Jaslyn and Sage; brother, Duke Passaris; sister, Mona Lisa Passaris; dear cousin, Stella Pappachrist; close friend, Bertha; and numerous other relatives and friends. Ruby was preceded in death by her daughter, Victoria Lynne Grabowsky; parents, Peter and Clara Passaris; and sister, Stella Passaris. She was born on June 16, 1927 in Milwaukee, WI. After graduating from high school, Ruby sold war bonds during WWII and worked for the phone company as an operator. She later worked for the US Postal Service starting as a mail sorter, was personal secretary for Post Master Richard Pino, and was promoted to work with the Postal Inspectors before retiring as a Human Resources Specialist at age 75. Ruby’s love of adventure took her to many places throughout the world but her favorite place was Hawaii. She enjoyed going on archaeological digs. She was a member of Sitz Markers Ski Club for many years. Ruby loved to sew, make her own clothing, and was a great cook, especially some wonderful Greek food on Sunday’s. Most of all she loved her family. Ruby was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Services will be held at French-Wyoming Chapel Friday, April 23, 2010, 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
