Ruby Jean Wyatt, age 88 passed away Monday January 18, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.


Jean was born in Grayson County, on December 8, 1932, to the late Roscoe and Ettie Anderson Parks. She is also preceded in death by her brothers: Glenn Parks and Herbert Parks; her sisters: Kathleen Parks and Mildred Sapp; her mother & father-in-law: Oscar and Georgia Wyatt; and her son-in-law Dale Sexton.


Jean was married for 65 years and was above all a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Joy Baptist Church and she loved nothing more than attending church services. Jean truly believed The Lord was her Shepherd. She worked for many years in the Chilhowie Elementary School cafeteria where she made many wonderful friends.


Survivors include her loving husband, Oscar Stone Wyatt Jr.; son, Junior Wyatt and wife Deborah, Ball Ground, GA; daughters: Barbara Sexton and Dawn Alexander, both of Marion; sisters-in-law: Marie Blevins, Marion, VA, Geraldine Collins, Saltville, VA, and Shirley Gwynn, New Market, TN; grandchildren: Rocky Wyatt, Afton Conner and husband Jesse, Jensen Delp and husband Travis, Jaelyn Alexander; great-grandchildren: Rylee and Bella Conner; many good friends also survive.


Private funeral services and burial will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 with Pastor Jay Overbay officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, from 5:00-7:00, at the Bradley’s Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley’s Funeral Chapel of Chilhowie is serving the family of Mrs. Wyatt.
