Yadkinville ? Ruby Matthews Ladd, 82, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013. She was born February 9, 1931 in Yadkin County to the late Kerney H. Matthews and Permelia Carter Matthews. Ruby was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to cook for her family and friends. Ruby also enjoyed the outdoors and working in her flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester James Ladd; brothers, Clifford ?Buck? Matthews, Newell ?Jabo? Matthews; sisters, Susie Ladd, Mozzelle Matthews. Surviving are her sons, Wayne (Toni) Ladd, Jerry ?Chub? (Dana) Ladd; grandchildren, Jason (Melinda) Ladd, Jamie (David) Cranfill; great grandchildren, Rylee Cranfill, Isaac Cranfill, Justin Ladd; brothers, Dale (Marilyn) Matthews, James Matthews. Her funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Bill Hale and the Rev. Dale Matthews. Burial will follow at Union Cross Friends Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, which is serving the Ladd family.
