LANGLEY, Ruby Winona
1912 - 2008

Ruby Winona Langley went to her heavenly reward on February 24, 2008. She passed away peacefully, with her family at her side. Ruby was born in Coolidge, Kansas on March 12, 1912, to Emily Rose and William Elliot Brown. Ruby was the youngest of ten children. She graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1929, and married William Clinton (Clint) Langley in 1937. Clint and Ruby purchased land and built their home in Citrus Heights in 1938. Clint preceded Ruby in death in 1995. Ruby has resided in comfort at Elizabeth James residential care home since 2000. A devout Christian, Ruby was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Citrus Heights. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Good News Clubs, and Child Evangelism groups. She also volunteered time and donations to Union Gospel Mission in Sacramento. She was known for her advanced sewing skills, gardening and food preservation talents, and for her kindness, gentle nature, and generosity. Ruby is survived by 4 children, Barbara Campbell of Citrus Heights, Carlene Brenize of Rochester, Michigan, Nadine Langley of Cedar Ridge, California, Jon Langley of Roseville, California. Ruby's family extends to 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008 at Lambert Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd., Roseville, CA. Ruby's family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers to Union Gospel Mission, 400 Bannon St, Sacramento, CA 95814, ugmsac.org.
