Ruby Lester Obituary
ABILENE
Ruby Maxine Lester, 92, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013, in Clyde, Texas.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013, in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene. The family will receive friends at a visitation before the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Ruby was born June 25, 1921 to Jessie Terrel McCord and Sarah Alice McDougal in Jacksboro, Texas. She married Carson Lester on October 5, 1941. Ruby was a homemaker; loved gardening, playing cards, and cooking for her family. She enjoyed camping in Colorado. Ruby was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carson Lester; two sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Dennis and husband, Bob, of Colorado City, Texas and Margie Wade and husband, Garland of Abilene; grandchildren, Tammy Midwell, Scott Jaco, Eddie Midwell, Gaylene Carpenter, Chuck Wade, and Kevin Wade; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Margie and Karen,
I don't know if you remember me, but "MaMa" kept me as a child and I considered her an extra grandmother. I loved her dearly and she was a sweet woman who gave me a lot of very dear memories. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you, as I know you have lost a very special lady.

I am so sorry for your loss. Ruby was my favorite aunt. She will be missed by so many but it is a comfort to know that she and my mother have reunited. Gay and Karen, you both are in our thoughts and prayers.
