I met Ruby nine years ago, when she was a member of the ACLF's Community Leadership Program in 2006 - from the beginning, her kindness and friendly compassionate nature were apparent - we spent six pretty intense months together as a cohort, and Ruby always was so encouraging and supportive towards me and the rest of us. Our sincere sympathy to Ruby's family. The Univ of WA Work Study Office worked closely with Ruby when she was involved with the JumpStart Program. She was a genuine human being, and her compassion was evident in her support for educating young children. She had a beautiful smile that lit up a room.
It's heartbreaking to know that she is no longer with us, but the legacy that she left us will always be remembered.
Rest in Peace, Ruby. You will be missed!!

My greatest condolences to you and your family. I met Ruby during my undergrad through the Jumpstart Program. Her and Daniel were a huge influence in my decision to pursue a Masters in Education. This is a great loss to all and know others are grieving with you. Praying for strength through this difficult time.
