I worked with Ruby years ago in Columbia while both of us worked for the Forest Service. She was a great person to work with and we were both new to our jobs at the time so we learned things together. She made that easy, and she also welcomed a kid from Oregon to South Carolina. I remember she always had a wonderful glimmer in her eyes and a smile.

Ruby, was a special diamond. I never had the chance to meet her but she helped me a number of times with our procurement. She would do all that she could to help you or find out who could help you if she couldn't. Prayers are with family.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Family. Although I did not have an opportunity to meet Ruby, working with her was always a pleasure.

Ruby's heart was for others. She never failed to send a card to celebrate a birthday, to let you know she was thinking about you, to wish you a speedy recovery when you were sick. The last card I received was about two weeks ago and it said "Don't think of this as a Get Well Card...Think of it as a Great Big Hug!" In her suffering, she thought of me. Ruby always made me smile and I will miss her as a co-worker and a friend.
