Not sure what to say?

Mom and I would always talk over the phone on New Year's Day as we watched the Rose Parade together, her in Battle Ground and I in Pasadena. She always loved the Rose Parade and she always wanted to know what was happening and how was the weather. We would talk for hours on the phone talking about everything and anything. I would tell her what I was cooking and she always said that sounded good. She taught me everything I needed to know about taking care of myself, she was a good mother and I...

My dad - Bill Silva - knew Ruby (and Earl too) from the Cascade Mariners and always spoke well of the work she did for the group. I am so sorry to see one more of that small group leave and hope there is someone to ring the bell that final time to mark Ruby's passing.
For Ruby's family, I am so sorry for your loss.

I had the privilege of meeting Earl and Ruby through my sister, who was Ruby's beautician for years. I so enjoyed visiting with her when I would go to clean. She was so wise and insightful, and I loved to hear her laugh. She had the best candy out in the most beautiful crystal candy dishes, chocolate covered peanut clusters! Loved them! She taught me to liven up food by not being afraid to try different spices! I will miss her greatly.
Sincerely,

Mary Hylton and family

Ruby was always cutting articles and snippets from the paper. I like to think this one (yellowed from age) touched her heart.

Laugh when you can, apologize when you should, and let go of what you can't change. Kiss slowly, forgive quickly, play hard, take chances, give everything, and have no regrets. Life is too short to be anything but happy!
