Ruby Pritchard May

Ruby Pritchard May, 66, passed away on Wednesday Aug. 22, 2012, after her battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a member of Churchland Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John A. and Margaret P. Prichard. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Thomas F. May; son, Robert W. May and wife, Cherie; daughter, Becky M. Hurst; brother, John C. Pritchard and sister-in-law, Lilli Jo. Ruby was also blessed with six grandchildren, Ryan T. May, Mikayla Mills, Miranda May, Kailey Hurst, Marissa May and Hunter Hurst. She was very family oriented and had strong support from family and friends during her life as well as the difficult fight with cancer. Always very personable, she never met a stranger and would build strong friendships. She met each challenge with strength, determination, courage and a positive attitude. Ruby retired as a Budget Analyst from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard where she made many friends over the years. The "breakfast bunch" made up these close friendships who were always there for her in every supportive way. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Churchland Baptist Church with Rev. Lawrence B. Coleman and Dr. Dan Koger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Loving Funeral Home is handling the arrangements
