Not sure what to say?

As daddy would say "Ruby Red", he loved Ruby. She came to see mother this summer. Being raised in East Texas was hard for the one that lived there. When she came home, San Augustine was always home. She would can peas to take back to Alaska. Worked in the garden just like daddy. She was one for the books. A true Pistol! I can hear her saying to daddy,
Jessie, what is going on up here now!
Love to all and the family and may God be with all of you.

Having known the Birdwell family all my life, my heart is heavy for their loss. I know God wil comfort them all, but I would just like to say God Bless and Keep strong for each other. Marcell Doyen Kornegay

Aunt Ruby, we will miss you. You were so much fun and all us kids loved it when we got together. Danny, I know you will all miss her and that the last year has been hard on you all. She is with her Lord now and Uncle Louis, She probably went running around with him hunting Lillian. They are all together now with Daddy and all the rest of the family. Be strong and we love you. See you at Dodson.

My family and I were blessed to know Ruby and her husband Bill, affectingly known to us as Murphy, I came to know Ruby when my husband went to work in Willow under Murphy. We spent a lot of time with her and her husband, and my boys loved them as family. Many wonderful memories are with us now and forever.

She was a special friend, and I spent many hours in her company, along with Murphy and Danny, while I lived in Anchorage - listening to her stories about her friends, her cherished family and sage advice.

I met Ruby when I lived in Anchorage and spent many hours listening to her wonderful stories about her life and her cherished family. She was always there when you needed a friend or a solution to a problem with her wise advice.

My wife and I met Bill and Ruby when I pastored a church in Anchorage. She knew me and my family as we were from Silsbee Texas . We stayed with them many times and often preached in their church at Willow. She was a wonderful person that leaves many good memories. Chuck & Coleta Willis
