Send FlowersNEWSOME, Ruby Hazel Wrenn, age 88, of Emporia, Va., passed away August 23, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Newsome. She is survived by her son, Wesley C. Newsome Sr. and wife, Rose Marie; two grandsons, Wesley C. Newsome Jr. and wife, Linda, and Darrell Wayne Newsome; great-grandchildren, Lori, Amanda, Ashley, Taylor, Hayley and Dylan; her great-great-granddaughter, Valerie; two sisters, Elsie Woodruff and Margaret Harris; brother, James Wilson Wrenn; and stepmother, Emma Wrenn. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Echols Funeral Home, Emporia, with interment in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Echols Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Greensville Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 108 Emporia, Va. 23847.
