Ruby "Annette" Deese Owens

Montgomery - Ruby Annette Deese Owens, age 85 passed away on June 1, 2018. She was born in Webb, Alabama on November 12, 1932 to Amsie D. Deese and Ruby Lee Kirkland. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Billy Owens and their three children, Anthony Owens, Pam Owens McCurdy (Billy), Leah Owens Loehr (Tim); six grandchildren, Amsie Owens (Stacey), Courtney Owens Gallion (Brian), Will McCurdy (Hannah), Mary Owens McCurdy, Savannah Loehr and Madison Loehr, three great grandchildren, Ty Gallion, Jack Owens, and Rhett McCurdy, one sister in law Billie Sue Deese and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Jack and three sisters Jewel, Blondell and Mildred. Annette graduated from Houston County High School in Columbia in 1951 and attended Riley Business College. She worked 35 years alongside her husband in their family business, Owens Optical. She simultaneously ran Bee Optical for several years in downtown Montgomery. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 2:00 pm with visitation one hour prior at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or Baptist Hospice of Montgomery.
