Irene Berryman Obituary

Irene Kay Berryman went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday evening, May 12, 2015, following a lengthy illness. Irene was born in Iowa Falls, Iowa, on November 6, 1940. Irene is preceded in death by her Mother, Mrs. Catherine M. Berryman Wiegand and Stepfather Roy Wiegand of Kenner, Louisiana and her father, George W. Berryman, New Orleans, Louisiana. Irene has two family members. Joy Summers from Illinois and Gary Summers from Florida. Miss Berryman lived at the Alexander Milne Home for Women in New Orleans, Louisiana, from September 20, 1958 until August 2005. In 2005, after Katrina, she moved to Laurel, Mississippi with her Milne family. Irene has been loved by many people and will be missed by all. Bro. Bob Taylor from Irene's home church, Glade Baptist Church, Laurel, Mississippi, will officiate over her service. Attending Glade Baptist Church was a joy for Irene and she loved her church family as she did her Milne family. Irene had several hobbies that she enjoyed but her favorite was taking piano lessons from Dr. Paul Cotten whom she loved dearly. She started taking these lessons at the early age of 73 yrs old. Irene will be truly missed by her Milne Sisters, Staff, Board of Directors and her Glade Baptist Church family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service from LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Tuesday afternoon, May 19, 2015 at 1:00. Visitation will begin at 11:00 in the morning. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories, Metairie. An online guestbook is available at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
