Ruby Phillips Obituary
July 20,1937 - Sept. 28, 2015
Resident of San Jose
After a brief, fierce battle with cancer and surrounded by her family, Ruby passed away peacefully on Sept. 28, 2015. Born in San Antonio, TX, to Ulysses and Marion Cyphers, Ruby graduated Summa Cum Laude from Dillard University with a B.S. in Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for forty-five years at numerous hospitals before retiring from San Jose State in 2014. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Joseph O. Phillips, daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Rex Carrino, grandson Joseph M. Phillips, sister Barbara Stauffer and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Sat., Oct. 3, 2015 at Lima Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara, CA 95050.
