Not sure what to say?

I wonder if Ruby's family knew about this part of Ruby's life? I met Ruby in the early 1970's when she was part of a small group of women in Gainesville who were involved in the Womens Right's Movement. She was always optimistic even though we were not successful in getting the ERA passed. I admired her and like many others found her to be inspiring. My sincere condolances to all who loved her. she was the director of our department at shands hospital. Great listener . Her door was always open and she was so helpful with any concerns I might have had. Many times just a phone call would solve the problem. So sad to hear of her passing.

I worked at Shands when Ruby came. She was my professional mentor, friend and second "mother". I worked for her for 3 years and she made me the Registered Dietitian I became for 50 years. Like her hair she was a bright flame to all of us RD "daughters"..........I know I shall see her in the next life.

Truly a "Grand Dame" of Shands Hospital. Ruby was always a friendly mentor. In my 28 years at Shands, I never saw her idle or not spreading her kindness. I later had the pleasure of serving her and Larry through Publix Pharmacies. There too, always respectful and never hurried. I would always love bumping into the Pucketts for a hung and a quick catch up. She will be missed. My memories of her smile will be with me always.

Ruby was my mentor in the UF CUP program and Shands boss from 1975-77. She had a dedicated staff due to her support and enthusiasm. I always enjoyed seeing her at ADA conventions. I was glad to see her in Gainesville after we both retired. RIP, Ruby

I will miss you, Ruby. You cared about me and always asked how I was doing, and you were concerned about my safety while I was riding my bicycle. You cared about your neighbors and your neighborhood. You were a good friend to me. Thank you!

Lark & David Noll send our love and respect to Ruby's family. She truely taught me how to be a dietitian, 48 years strong. God Bless.

My most sincere condolences to all the family. Her Sunday school lessons were incredible. Thank you for mentoring my son, thank you for your example.I will miss you Ruby, and especially our conversations.

I worked for Ruby as a Registered Dietitian for many years. I would walk down the hall across from her office but she had a walk between her desk and the hallway. and she would start calling out names - usually started with her daughters then ending with dietitian names. She would call you in and just talk to you about anything. I was impressed by how hard she worked and how she managed the hospital politics. She also was a true food service innovator and renovated the kitchen at UFHEALTH...
