Not sure what to say?

“Only an Aunt can give hugs like a mother, can keep secrets like a sister, and share love like a friend.”
~ Spanish Proverb

My earliest and most lasting memory of Aunt Ruby.....my brothers and I were sitting in the back seat of a convertible cruising down by the lake with Uncle Gar driving ....and I'm thinking... this uncle is so cool ...and he's got this beautiful lady up front riding with him. I want to be just like him someday.

Ruby was a lovely neighbor. She was very sweet and kind to me and to my son. She will be missed dearly.

Aunt Ruby was part of my childhood as was Aunt Jeanie, Aunt Peggy and Aunt Eleanor. But it was Aunt Ruby that kept in touch when I moved to Canada and her cards, always signed "Best Wishes", were a welcome connection to my former home. She was always interested in my family - and recently sent pictures of children reading books to add to my collection. In June I found an envelope of vintage handkerchiefs in my mail box from her. I am so glad I phoned her and got to hear her laugh and hear...

Before she became my " Aunt Ruby ", she was my first babysitter. I remember being very scared when my mother took off ( to my grandfather's funeral ) for the first time ever. Despite my early age, I remember realizing that this woman would make sure I was O.K.. I have loved her very much ever since then.

Karen, I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I always loved to visit with her when we got together. I still make her Vegetable Casserole recipe to this day! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I am so glad I got to see you at Jeff's wedding, Aunt Ruby. I will think of you in your heavenly home. Uncle Gar, I am thinking of you and I love you so much. My heart goes out to you. Love, Doann
